À propos de moi

Trying to make everyday life an adventure and always dreaming of the next big trip. Adam & I travel by bicycle, hitchhiking, hiking & public transit.

CURRENT MISSION:

Learning what it means to be home.

HOSTING:

Please don’t request to stay more than a week in advance!!

Last minute requests are totally fine, and we know what it’s like to travel and never have a moment of alone time or for things to happen and delay your arrival. We want to get to know you, even if that is only over a late night snack or early morning coffee.

We’re good hosts for folks who need a cozy spot to land, we’re not great hosts for people looking to party.

**We have a cattle dog named Harry, so it is important that you are good with being around dogs!**

TRAVELING:

Adam & I are very experienced and independent guests, and can be involved as little or as much in your day as you want. We’ll communicate our plans and only need a small amount of space on the floor or a spot for our tent outside.

CO-HOST/TRAVELER: My sweet husband, Adam: (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/adamjvogt)

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

When you host, the traveling comes to you!

After being both a host and surfer, I cannot imagine traveling any other way. Couchsurfing has given me so many unexpected friendships and experiences, staying at a hotel would be a useless way to see somewhere new.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Currently listening to: Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey, Angus & Julia Stone, Bon Iver, Lorde, Bon Dylan, John Prine, and country radio stations when I’m driving. There are many other songs and artists I love so don’t judge me on this list :)

I am really bad at watching movies and TV series. Example: I made it through nearly all of Breaking Bad and got bored of looking at a screen 3 episodes from the end. I’ve still never finished it (but I know how it ends, everyone talked about it constantly).

Books: I love to read and tend to gravitate towards serious topics and real stories of all the heavy things in the world, past & present.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

- Adam and I quit our jobs, gave up our apartment, and hitchhiked across Canada in the middle of the winter (2015/2016)

-I traveled across the U.S. by bicycle mostly solo (Feb-April 2018)

- Adam and I (again) quit jobs, put things in storage and rode our bicycles for 100 days through Iceland, Scotland, England & France! (July - Nov 2022)

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Sharing meals and conversation is my favorite way to get to know someone and their spot in the world. I love learning and listening to other worldviews!

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Good communication & timely arrival, respect for house rules, and we always arrive with food to share :)
